PROBLEMATIC FEEDING BEHAVIOURS IN CHILDREN: THE SOS APPROACH

  • Is your child limiting the amount and range of foods eaten?
  • Do they continue to prefer milk as a significant part of their diet well beyond their first year?
  • Is there ongoing problems with vomiting, choking, gagging or coughing during meals?
  • Has your child not weaned off baby food by 16 months of age?
  • In some children these preferences are driven by immature oral-motor and sensory processing skills.
  • The SOS (Sequential Oral Sensory) approach to feeding was developed to help these children and their families.
  • Developed by a team of paediatric health professionals the program has experienced great success in increasing the range and volume of foods eaten by a large number of children.

Learning to enjoy food!
