TEN TIPS FOR TWO YEAR OLD TALKERS

- Speak in short phrases
- Emphasise key words, during your daily routines

- Allow your child to initiate communication
-> using words or gestures

- Turn taking in play is very important
- Talk about ‘here’ and ‘now’ activities
-> Say “Shoes on” while putting on shoes
- Repeat, Repeat, Repeat!
- Repetition is essential for learning new words
- Singing songs and reading stories are very helpful
